Angel Food Ministries A Food Ministry with a Servant's Heart Angel Food Ministries Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the United States. The program began with 34 families in Monroe, Georgia in 1994, and has grown to serve ten of thousands of families accross the United States. Angle Food Ministries crosses all denominational lines and has spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ through salvation tracts that are placed in each box of food. Blessings by the box... Angel Food's menus are sold by the box at $30.00 per unit. Each month's menu consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60.00. One box of food assists in feeding a family of four for about one week or a senior citizen for almost a month. The food is all the same high quality one would purchase at a common retailer - not damaged or outdated goods. There is no limit to the number of boxes and individual can purchase and there are no applications or qualifications. Because Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit organization, food purchases to donate to someone in need may be fully tax-deductible as a charitable donation. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-line Food Stamp Voucher System. How the Program Works... Food sales and distribution are handled by church host sites. Orders and payments are collected by the host sites during the first part of each month, then turned into the Angel Food office in Monroe, Georgia on a predetermined date. The following week the host site picks up the food from the Angel Food's Warehouse to fill the orders on distribution Day. In some cases, food can be delivered to the host site. Blessings at work... On Distribution day, church volunteers come together to perform duties ranging from setting up and filling boxes to cleaning up or assisting disabled or elderly customers with carrying their boxes to their cars. Most host sites do not deliver to their community: customers are urged to pick up their food at the host site location, bringing their own boxes or baskets to be filled. To learn more...
